On September 24th, 2004 my life changed forever....
After a helmet to helmet hit in the third quarter in a varsity football game I was slow to get up. A coach helped me stand up and walk to the sidelines. Then everything changed....

On the sidelines I collapsed and was unconsciousness and unresponsive. The trainer called 911.
My eyes rolled into the back of my head. I was foaming at the mouth. Different medical professionals came down from the stands to the sidelines. The ambulance finally got there and rushed me to the hospital.
At the hospital I was quickly taken into a room to do a scan of my head. The doctor told my parents that there was bleeding and I would need immediate surgery. My parents asked the neurosurgeon if I was going to survive surgery. His response was, "I don't know."
Things in the operating room were not looking good for me. The doctor was getting ready to tell my parents that I did not survive surgery. But then this happened....

About the time things were looking bad in surgery, the varsity football game got over. Students and fans went to the center of the football field and prayed. I very miraculously survived surgery that night.
But, my story does not end there....

Five weeks in a coma.....

Imagine slowly coming out of a coma unable
to walk, talk, read, or eat.
I was a star athlete and student, now starting over....
I shouldn't even be alive, but here I am.... married, working full time, and dad to an awesome little girl.
